Week in Review: June 1, 2025
The most powerful man on earth took some time out of playing golf this weekend to push an interesting theory on his Truth Social Account:
A few things jumped out at me (aside from the fact that Donald Trump’s fingers really are that short). Who executed Biden in 2020? How long has Trump been aware of this conspiracy and why are we just hearing about this now? Who engineered the clones and did they engineer any other clones who are masquerading as presidents or was Biden a one-off? If Democrats don’t know the difference between Biden and Clone Biden, does that mean Republicans do? And if they do, why have they been silent about this for the past five years?
Also, how do we square Biden’s assassination in 2020 with Trump’s pronouncement the other day that he doesn’t feel sorry for Biden because of his recent cancer diagnosis? Is Clone Biden dying of a human disease? Is the cancer diagnosis just a front for how Clone Biden’s handlers have decided to take him offline?
Lots of questions and so few answers. But the most important question of all has yet to be answered:
Where is Jake Tapper’s book about Trump’s rapidly deteriorating mental condition?
Worst Corporate Media Take of the Week
There were some serious contenders this week but Nicholas Kristoff of The New York Times slipped in under the wire this morning with the following lede in his otherwise outstanding column about the horrific death toll from Trump’s cuts to USAID and other foreign assistance:
“I see Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a good man doing bad things, but perhaps he thinks even worse of me: He recently suggested that I was a liar.”
Really? I see Kristoff as a good man who is the conscience of the Times — and of mainstream media more broadly. But, without getting too much into philosophy, how is someone a good man when he consistently does really bad things?
And, to be clear, Rubio has done very bad things. As I wrote on Friday, “More than 300,000 people have died thanks to Donald Trump’s decision to cut funding for USAID and other foreign and domestic programs — more than 200,000 of them children. That amounts to 103 deaths per hour.”
The person overseeing the gutting of these programs? Rubio.
Good men don’t kill innocent children when it costs almost nothing to save them. Men like that typically have children and grandchildren who will one day be ashamed of anyone knowing that they were related to them.

Below is the most recently available national data on the average price of apples, bacon, and eggs. It’s been four months and those prices are not “way down.”
Apples (Honeycrisp, per pound): $1.99 (down from $2.31 when Biden left office and up from $1.66 this time last year)
Bacon (sliced, per pound): $7.009 (April, 2025, up from $6.915 in December, 2024, which was Biden’s last full month in office)
Eggs (Grade A, Large, per dozen): $5.12 (April, 2025, up from $4.15 in December, 2024, which was Biden’s last full month in office)

Pausing first for a moment to remember all the men and women who died on behalf of this country. I was in Normandy last year with my son and looked up at the cliffs that so many men died scaling on D-Day. Once you see that, and the American cemetery nearby, you never think of Memorial Day as just the start of summer again.

Just makes me wonder what crazy movie was on Netflix last night in Florida that he might have watched to come up with this bright idea?
If this insanity came out of the mouth or keyboard of any other US POTUS an emergency cabinet meeting would be called to remove him from office. Why, oh why is this being allowed to continue? Trump belongs in a mental ward as does his lunatic cult who has no doubt latched onto this ridiculous idea as fact.
