China has organized chartered flights to get its citizens out of Israel and Iran.
The Czech Republic and Slovakia are evacuating its nationals from Israel to Prague and Bratislava, respectively.
Poland has arranged overland evacuations via Jordan.
Lithuania, Latvia, and other European Union nations are coordinating repatriations using buses to border airports, with EU support.
Greece has already evacuated around 105 people via Egypt.
In addition, many other countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Taiwan, India, Italy, Pakistan, Cyprus, Turkmenistan, and Albania are assisting their nationals through government flights and other passages.
But not the United States under President Donald Trump.
In Trump’s America, you are on your own. In a shocking development yesterday, the American embassy in Israel issued a security alert that reads, in part:
Given the security situation and in compliance with Israel Home Front Command guidance, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 18) through Friday (June 20). This includes the Consular Sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. There will be no passport (emergency or regular) or Consular Report of Birth Abroad services.
We have no announcement about assisting private U.S. citizens to depart at this time. The Department of State is always planning for contingencies to assist with private U.S. citizens’ departure from crisis areas. We will alert the U.S. citizen community if there is additional information to share regarding departure options. U.S. citizens should enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program to receive the latest updates.
The U.S. Embassy is aware that third parties are assisting U.S. citizens in departing Israel. While we are not able to endorse any providers, we understand some have been able to successfully help U.S. citizens.
Let this sink in for a moment. While the world’s rising superpower, China, is evacuating its citizens, the United States of America is so cowed that it has shut down its embassy. It is telling Americans to find third-party organizations to help them out, without providing any guidance on what those organizations might be. In short, our government taking a walk.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Mike Huckabee is sending the president apocalyptic messages about Trump’s personal communications with God, while reminding him, “I will not abandon this post! Our flag will NOT come down.”
Maybe. The flag may still be flying above the embassy but Huckabee has certainly abandoned his post — or, at least, abandoned the American citizens he is representing in Israel. They are forced to find their own way out of the war zone.
Other Americans have stepped up to fill the void. Yesterday, Birthright, an organization that sends young American Jews to Israel, evacuated nearly 1,500 participants via cruise ship to Cyprus. There, they were met by four jetliners chartered by Gov. Ron DeSantis and scheduled to be flown to Florida.
If the state of Florida can evacuate Americans, why has the federal government failed in this basic mission? Why is the American ambassador sending messianic messages to the White House, rather than doing his job of protecting the citizens he represents? Why is the rest of the world, from China to tiny Albania, caring for their nationals in a way this president will not?
Most importantly, why is American media silent about this? Our government has failed in its most basic duty of keeping its citizens safe. Instead, it has cut and run — by closing the American embassy, by telling Americans they are on their own, by abandoning them in a war zone. Where is the wall-to-wall coverage of this betrayal?
This is a harbinger of things to come, not just abroad but here at home. When the next crisis hits — and it will surely hit imminently — the basic functions of government will fail. It has taken less than six months for this president to dismantle generations of protections that Americans thought they could rely upon.

I’m very glad the Birthright kids are safe. But. Why is my state (Florida) using state $$$ for this purpose? Everything DeathSantis does is performative. Believe me, the dude doesn’t care about people.
Of course the Bloated Yam doesn't care about war casualties.
They are "losers" and "suckers."
