Julie, I have no idea how you have the patience to deal with Scott Jennings. The guy will argue for anything Trump does, no matter how nonsensical. CNN should get rid of him!

As with all things legal, this must play out. The fact that the Senator was ultimately able to physically meet with the individual, who apparently displayed no outward signs of ill treatment or abuse, is a positive step. The fact that SCOTUS required the administration to "facilitate" the return is, of course, easily sidestepped by tRump claiming that El Salvador refuses to return him (of course, they would in a second if tRump told them to). But the reality is, aside from the injustice (and it may or may not be that; he had and has no legal standing to be in the US) to him and his family, we are past the War of Jenkins Ear mentality when individuals can be the cause of hostilities. It will probably take a second SCOTUS "clarification" to effect the return.

I pose a hypothetical (or perhaps not so much) question: Which would progressives rather have, the return of a single individual or the confirmation of birthright citizenship? Because Rump will undoubtedly try to make some behind-the-scenes bargain with Roberts.

"Just imagine for a moment the reaction if Elon Musk had been deported to a South African prison last year because Joe Biden and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced to the world that he was a capo in some drug gang."

What an absolutely stunning proposal, and sorry that Joe Biden missed his chance.

The included clip reminded me of why I can’t abide CNN’s evening programing anymore. I’d welcome an actual honest discussion with republicans but Scott and Shermichael are a couple of hypocrites getting paid by CNN to play Trump apologists. For years Scott was not a Trump fan. Yes he was one of those republicans who insisted republicans must stay in their tribe no matter what. A lot of republicans feel that way, but he didn’t become an apologist until he became a regular on all these panel discussions. I learned from you ladies Saturday morning chat on YouTube that Shermichael is an even bigger hypocrite when it comes to supporting Trump. A real opinion on any subject is one thing but a manufactured one for a paycheck on CNN is too much to stand. It does a disservice to the viewer and it’s disgusting.Naturally Scott came up with deporting Garcia to Somalia or Gaza. That at least was his real attitude towards all immigrants. They’re all scum and deserve to be in the world’s worst places. So much for being an evangelical Christian in good standing. My question is what is to become of people like Scott and Shermichael once we win this war and defeat Trump and MAGA. Is a rehabilitation tour by them in our future? Probably
