An excellent, informative article one does not see in corporate media. Footus picks, I believe, are all a huge f*** you to every decent, honorable, reasonable person. He purposely chooses insanely unqualified and outrageous attention seekers to positions of power, because his handlers at Project 2025 want to distract from their haste to get the US into an authoritarian oligarchy. The horrid irony of this White supremacist regime is their fake anti-semitism as an excuse to destroy free speech and assembly. Fact.
Reference my post (Apr 4, 2025, 12 pgs), “Remember Hitler, How far can Hitler’s methods and oratorical techniques take Trump?”, compares Trump’s behavior with Hitler’s behavior through the lens of Hannah Arendt’s seminal study, “The Origins of Totalitarianism”.
Hitler “promised everything to everyone and offered to fulfill all wishes and hopes”. His basic oratorical technique consisted of “repeating and rehashing indefinitely the same theories, hurling the same accusations at his opponents, and drowning his audiences under an avalanche of words. His appeal was undeniable.” Trump uses these same methods and techniques with undeniable results, to wit, twice elected president. To be clear, defining consistency as truth means to deny the existence of truth.
Another Hitler tool to avoid argument is saying: “Only the future can reveal its merits”. Trump uses that all the time. Following Trump’s “liberation Day” suite of wide-ranging global tariffs, he avoided argument with these responses: ‘It’s what is expected, the operation is over, and now we let it settle in, the economy will soon be booming, I think it’s all going to work out. So, there’s going to be a transition period.’
It may not seem like it, but Trump is in his pre-power existence. Like Hitler, propaganda at home is a temporary tactical maneuver for the non-MAGA or the unindoctrinated. This propaganda is marked by its extreme contempt for facts. For young Americans today, fascist rule may be inconceivable, but Trump is marching right down the yellow brick road laid down by Hitler. Trump’s direction and progress are unmistakable; it is his pathway to unparalleled power and legacy.
Trump sees an open road to totalitarianism.
Postscript: Neither Trump nor Christian nationalism would be in the White House without their synergy. It misses the mark to speak of one without recognizing the other.
I’ve come to believe that Trump has deliberating gone out of his way to choose the most inappropriate people to head everything under the sun as a big F you to the country. You didn’t want me. You didn’t give me what I think I deserve so this is what you get. He’s saying F you to his cult too, who he wouldn’t actually wouldn’t spend 5 minutes with. Goodbye to your Medicaid and Snap and all you depended on. The joke is on you that you trusted me. He’s taking his petty revenge and it’s quite clear he doesn’t give a damn if he destroys the country and all of us to get it. My attitude is not so fast buddy. I don’t think any of us are about to throw in the towel and his day of a big F you from all of us is coming.
Yes those people are QAnon crazies. Our FBI director is one too. The hard core MAGA cult is insane. Why do you think the republicans are too afraid to speak up? Some of those people are the same ones who wanted to hang Pence and attacked Pelosi’s husband. All hopeless cases and some dangerous. Too bad we can’t send them to Mars along with Musk.
It’s an open question about the cult. It could go either way. You’ve seen the people who go to his rallies. They don’t appear to be the most skilled and educated. Lots of older people too. No one looks like they are dripping with cash. Tariffs and lack of necessary services hurt all of us and no one will be immune from suffering, but the people on the bottom rung of our society will be hurt the most. Blaming Biden can only go on for so long. It’s already getting stale. I personally think China is Trump’s biggest mistake. We need them more than they need us. For everyone’s sake in the long run it’s best China holds fast and why shouldn’t they? They’re in the cat bird’s seat. More pain felt financially is likely needed for more people to see the light.
I agree with virtually everything that you said. But the saddest part of that is...MAGA will NEVER get that the joke's on them! Everything that eventually hurts them will be blamed on Biden (or Obama, if it relates to healthcare issues), and they will accept it.
Hopefully, in 2028, the Cult of tRump won't translate to the next mini-Messiah.
Julie, thank you for laying this out clearly, and speaking truth to power. Yesterday I wrote a piece on Germany finally having a government. I was so relieved. Finally something might happen to help us support Ukraine in a more substantial way.
Then, today I wrote a piece on how Germans also have protesting to do, as the German Constitutional Court's Intelligence Division finally recognized the AfD as a right-wing extremist group. Now the protesting starts anew to make sure that the new government addresses this.
However, a lot can happen in a day. Apparently Germany's Court is going to hold off on applying this new designation which gives the intelligence branch more authority to spy on and investigate the AfD, because they filed a law suit against it. However, I understand that the head of the US Intelligence Committee, Tom Cotton posted on X that he is against it.
According to Euro News,
"In a post on X on Wednesday night, the chair of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, Tom Cotton, called for the exchange of information with the BfV to be stopped.
'These police state tactics are more suited for Russia or Communist China, not Western Europe’s largest country,' he wrote.
He said he had asked Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, to instruct US intelligence agencies not to cooperate with 'German authorities involved in surveiling domestic political opponents.'
Cotton's comments come a week after Secretary of State slammed the extremist designation as 'tyranny in disguise.'
'What is truly extremist is not the popular AfD...but rather the establishment’s deadly open border immigration policies that the AfD opposes,' he wrote on X."
I see the long arms of the US fascist government reaching into Germany as it tries not to repeat the mistakes from its past, which it has a Constitution to protect, if they use it. The US will not be satisfied until all of the countries are as fascist as they are, and they can have a global Holocaust. It is up to us here in Germany, and in the US, and everywhere to stop them.
Tom Cotton is opposed to Germany using less than constitutional (US) means to control fascists but is perfectly OK with allowing US fascists to illegally compile a master data base on US citizens to use it to control them. "No control tactics for you, but here it's fine."
Whatever Tom Cotton thinks, the German constitution is not the US constitution and can ban parties that are in danger of overturning the democracy. In the meantime, Trump is having to rethink unthought out policies. The EU is taking over the negotiations for peace between Ukraine and Russia and have asked Trump to stay out of negotiations, while backing them. Apparently he has complied. Trump is also being forced by the Middle East Oil Cartel to change strategy on Gaza. US citizens, lawyers, judges, universities are all pushing back on Trump, and some Democratic politicians are as well. Things are not going as smoothly for Mr. fascist as he was told they would if he just got with the program of the Heritage Foundation and the Tech Bros. His own most important plans are seeming to work, because he is making big money off of his presidency and has kept himself out of prison, where he probably would not have gone anyway, but after his, if we get a different government in, he might.
Ken, I am on a train, and the internet is somewhat spotty. Anyway, here is one article in Euro News, which is about Merz saying that the EU agrees with the plan that Trump laid out and backs enforcing the plan that they agree upon. However, this was after Merz's talk with Trump, and meeting in Zelensky in Kiev with Macron, Tusk, and Starmer and no US people.
Here is a brief review of what Trump and Merz discussed in their phone conversation. https://p.dw.com/p/4uBmH
Here is something that will make Putin happy, but is not a no to NATO for Ukraine. It suspect it means more like not until Trump is out and a more friendly US president in office. Also, EU membership is on the horizon. Hope for Ukraine and not a threat to Putin in terms of NATO.
Good signs, but i think trump is still totally controlled by Putin and perhaps this reversal in trump's position is part of a putin plan to make trump look more reasonable (as contorted as that sounds). I will accept a real change in trump's position when he starts sending arms again to Ukraine. Of course there is always the possibility that trump's treatment of putin is starting to be as chaotic as everything else he does and putin is losing control.
Reading how Trump is pressuring countries to sign contracts with Starlink in order to do tariff deals, which is blackmale, is upsetting. No one can trust Musk's Starlink and other leaders should know this by now. Signing 10 year contracts is just folly. Still, I can understand how countries feel they need to.
We shall see what happens. I don't expect Putin to stop bombing Ukraine tomorrow, or any other sort of attack, so there is going to be no peace deal until there is a cease fire. Putin is going to want to see what pressure is actually put on him, and not make any moves he does not want to make with just talk. However, I will wait and see and hope I am wrong.
India and Pakistan, not sure what is going on there. Is there a cease fire? Hope so.
Houthis are no longer being attacked by US from what I understood today, and Trump is trying to renew deal with Iran that he chucked in his first presidency, now realizing he needs it.
Middle Eastern Oil countries seem to be flexing their angry with Israel's destruction of Gaza muscles on Trump too. He needs their money, or so I am told.
So, where are things going the way Trump wants them? It is certainly not at home-sweet-home. Someone suggested turning Mar-a-lago into a high security prison instead of Alcatraz. We can understand how efficient that would be.
Unfortunately, none of the sociopaths Trump, and his family, friends and the people he has appointed and who are in this party, are concerned about anyone else.
the US should not have a holocaust museum at least not one focused on just one holocaust that happened far away

I kinda forgot about the Qanon label. Was it ever revealed who their Q was/is?

Remember when the MAGAs went to Dallas for weeks waiting for JFK and JFK junior to come back from the grave? No cult here!

We don't have until 2028.
2028 is for a new president. 2026 will be for at least one house of Congress.
If you don't believe in the system, then you have no hope, because "revolution" just isn't going to happen.

Thank you.
