Frankly it’s hard to be optimistic right now. Trump will return to the White House regardless of our concerns. Julie, politics can be an ugly business, you know this better than most. It’s not just the republicans, some democratic leaders are not much better. It’s hard to take anything Governor Murphy seriously. Democrats must do better and just sleepwalking into oblivion isn’t an option

Come up with a name for "manufactured crisis" like they do with TDS and virtue singaling and woke (which was our name, but they used better) and you defeat it. This is a little of the DONT THINK ABOUT AN ELEPHANT theory. What do we call it. Trumpcasting? I don't know. DNC should be spending that money we all donated funding a whole room of people to come up with it.

Otherwise, he's running game and doing well for himself attacking a fantasy land. Remember Greenland? I don't. I've forgotten it already. So has most of the media. But boy, he owned the news cycle for a while there with that one. We've got to watch the tendency to fall for he and Breitbart Bannon's news push. We can't do what did in 2017, responding to every news nugget he generates.

This is a sentence that needs to become the prayer for the Dems. The key is the pronoun "you."

Having a lot of routine technical stuff to work on, I've had the opportunity to listen to the hearings, which is literally spooky. Bondi sounds, and occasionally looks, like the member of a cult whose brain veers from reason to panic about irritating the guru, Hegseth is obviously a nutter, a big cluttered room lit by a 5-watt bulb, Vought belongs in a remake of Dr. Strangelove.

But Democrats are not really taking this opportunity to hit back hard. Many -- and Tim Kaine was a spectacular example -- are still fighting as if there were any "norms" left. You can hit back hard at the leaders of this cultish organization.

Lots of work ahead.

This is the most frustrating thing about Dems. They don’t know how to fight back. Its pathetic.

Excellent way to combat republican nonsense. My only suggestion is to include the word "lie" in the response as in "Donald Trump wants to distract you with his lies about issue X, that do not affect you. We want to talk about how to make your life more affordable.”

Spot on, Julie!!! That's the message the Dems should be sending all the live long day! And thanks for the musical interlude....
