Thanks Julie for all you do daily to inform the public. Just heard your comments on the group conversation with Charlie Angus. Thanks for pointing out the history of the concentration camps and connecting the dots to today's events.

I was literally taking notes from the entire podcast since you all hit on so many topics. The only suggestion is that you get to finish your thoughts, points and sentences before another person presents their brilliant contribution. Had to do a lot of rewinding but it's all good.

Even so, many thanks to you and the ladies for your valuable free form conversations. Much Appreciated.

We are three-quarters of the way down on the slippery slope. So sad for America.

No we are a nation that allows even the most biased and unintelligent among us to make baseless claims and allow the public to determine what they believe. The good news is you have dozens of followers believe who what you say.

Julie, it’s best that you limit public appearances to those where your ideological propaganda can’t be challenged. Your positions are too fragile for scrutiny.

It is astounding that in this nation our Congress, our SC, our president, is operating in full dictatorship mode, and we are sitting around complaining, but not rising up to stop this. I go to demonstrations, email and call representatives, vent in comment sections on media articles, support like minded people authoring alarms; but what else is going to stop this assault on liberty, on our democracy, on our people? This regime is chugging along and continuing to destroy our country, so billionaires can pick up the pieces and extract whatever wealth they can grift. What is going to stop this????

Just wanted to leave you a quick note. CNN official confirmed tonight, a military plane has filed a flight plan to Libya from Texas.

People are being disappeared tonight into a hellhole that is Libya.

Sharia law, torture, rape, no food or water, many men in one cell that they sleep standing up. Toilets do not work. If you thought CECOT in El Salvador was bad this is the worst - you can't even imagine it.

Are we going to have to wait until our grandchildren read about this in history books (I will be long gone) before America comes to grips with the horror that we are perpetrating?

Instead of spending 15 minutes of the evening TV news blabbing about the "emotional anticipation" of crowds in St. Peters Square watching for white pope smoke, maybe they should spend 5 minutes explaining to America what it means that the President of the United States is going to deport human beings to Libyan dungeons where they will die in misery.

Of course, they would have to say "we have to warn you that the entirety of this news may be disturbing." Can't have people changing the channel before the commercial break.

Libya is not a safe country and the places they are potentially being sent sound like hell on earth. As a Brit, I feel kind of disgusted last year when our (then) Tory government were trying to send migrants to Rwanda. Not in any kind of gulags, but still, it sounded chilling enough and I'm glad it never materialised before Labour got into power. This is next level Trump madness.

Great article Julie, thanks for bringing it to our attention, I had no idea.

So the Trump administration is engaged in human trafficking. We have laws against that. Pam Bondi should be all over this

Good to know Libya is not interested in making the deal with Trump El Salvador did. Uganda has also been floated as a place they’d like to use. Earlier today I heard they’d like to force Ukraine to get involved in this. Bottom line is for years Fox has fed their viewers the lie the US is overrun with dangerous migrant criminals and has actively fueled immigrant hatred. Trump’s goons ran out of dangerous criminals some time ago so now they are reduced to arresting people just trying to make a living. The hate they are treating them with says it all. Along with everything else Trump is destroying, soon Americans are going to find out what a day without immigrants looks like and we won’t like it very much. When that day comes My vote goes to Steven Miller for a new job at the meat processing plant standing in animal blood all day. Holman can harvest fruits and vegetables under a blazing sun, and Trump can sweat like a pig while washing dishes at one of his golf clubs.

I hate to sound like a {GASP!} progressive, but conservatives have ALWAYS trafficked in hatred---of everyone! It comes from that only book that they have ever had read to them (very few MAGA bother to read; it's considered communistic).

The basic problem of course is that this term, tRump has carefully surrounded himself with absolutely nothing but brainless lackey yes-men (and women), To even raise the possibility that one of his Sacred Utterances might, perhaps, maybe be impractical, let alone blatantly illegal and/or unconstitutional, means instant disloyalty.

The deportations were supposed to start wednesday. However, I just read in the NY Times that Libya (both the legitimate Libyan government and the warlords) have told our government effectively, “Oh hell no! We are a country of laws!” What have we come to when the Libyans are schooling us on international law.

I have used the Nazi Germany for years. It has not worked, including in my years as a public official. For as much horror and pain Trump is causing to millions, it is still abstract and is disc connected from economic realities of the majority of America. The Nazi Germany analogy fails to motivate opposition because:

It appears hyperbolic to moderates, causing them to dismiss legitimate concerns; It's been overused across multiple administrations, creating analogy fatigue; Many Americans don't see or selectively remember concrete evidence of systematic persecution; The comparison feels disconnected from everyday economic concerns.

I asked AI for help: Historical analogies often feel abstract compared to immediate issues critique effectively pinpoints the Nazi analogy's inefficacy. It highlights the perception of hyperbole, leading to dismissal by moderates and contributing to "analogy fatigue." The lack of perceived concrete persecution and the disconnect from economic realities further weaken its impact, emphasizing the abstract nature of historical comparisons against immediate concerns.

I heard about this as well and I do not understand why people being deported aren’t being sent back to their home countries. Many of our immigrants are from Mexico, Latin and South America. How the hell can it be legal to send them to Libya, El Salvador, or any country they aren’t from? We know they are not being given any due process before deportation but this is double insanity. The only conclusion that can be reached is Trump and his goons hate all brown and black skinned immigrants and they don’t want to just to deport them to their home country. They want to cause them as much pain and suffering as possible for ever setting foot on American soil. How do we stop this? ICE is rounding up all sorts of immigrants whose only crime was to come to the US to work and have a better life. I don’t know if the video is still up on SubStack but I watched one last night where 2 little girls were sobbing for their papa to be released and saying over and over he’s not a criminal. Their sorrow was heartbreaking. These videos need to be on all media. This isn’t who we are as a country and this deliberate cruelty has to be stopped somehow, someway.
