Trump is a Psychopath
And the media is complicit
The president of the United States is a psychopath. This is not about his policies — although lord knows, they will kill millions of people before he is through.
This is about Donald Trump himself — the putrid, malignant soul that occupies his broken-down body. The sick mind that, without our increasingly loosened guard rails, would conjure up a gulag or wherever autocrats like him send those they hate, usually without any real basis.
He is rotting from the inside and under his leadership, so is our nation.
The movie director Rob Reiner was brutally stabbed to death last night. So was his wife of over thirty-five years, Michele. Their adult son has been arrested for the crime. By any stretch of the imagination, this is an awful tragedy.
This was not a political assassination but Trump decided to make the Reiners’ death political anyway.
In addition to being a groundbreaking actor and director, whose career spanned everything from All In the Family to This is Spinal Tap, the Princess Bride, A Few Good Men, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, and so much more, Reiner was a committed progressive. He had long been a donor to and outspoken champion of various liberal causes.
Michele Singer Reiner was a well-known photographer who, among other things, photographed Trump for the cover of the Art of the Deal. This woman was not a stranger to Trump.
And this is what the most powerful man in the world could not countenance. This morning, he took the time out of his schedule to post this on his noxious social media account:
Trump’s derangement, the very thing he consistently accuses his perceived enemies of possessing, is so deeply rooted and apparent that it requires us not to waste our breath discussing it further. But what does require further discussion — what is absolutely necessary to raise over and over again — is the abject fucking hypocrisy in the wake of Reiner’s death.
