The Real Reason Trump Will Provide Clemency to Groomers

Trump considering pardons for Sean "Diddy" Combs and Ghislaine Maxwell

Why is Donald Trump fighting so hard to prevent the release of the Epstein files? Why is he considering clemency and maybe even a full pardon for Sean “Diddy” Combs and then, most likely, for Ghislaine Maxwell?

You can bet your bank account that any reference to him in those files has been scrubbed by his Justice Department. Maxwell, of course, probably has additional incriminating evidence stashed away somewhere, which is why Trump needs to placate her with a relatively cushy prison transfer and the promise of clemency. But since Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest, which happened during Trump’s first term, all the president’s enablers have had ample time to protect him from being exposed. It’s just another perk of having loyalists run the Department of Justice, rather than patriots whose only cause is delivering justice on behalf of survivors.

So why is Trump really taking time away from the business of governing to consider pardoning sexual miscreants like Maxwell and Combs?
