I honestly don't understand all the hoopla about the WHCD. The fact that he was even invited was a red flag. Why was he invited? Every single time Drumpf gets before a lectern, he humiliates others and himself. No surprise that no one in the room rose to express contempt for what he said, or left the room, or bellowed "Shut Up, you filthy moron!". There was not one iota of courage in that room. And yet he continues to trash talk, on his plane, in the Oval Office, on the tarmac. And no journalist is inclined to bite back. I really like Kaitlan Collins, and she could have walked out too.
What do we expect? Julie, everything you write here is spot on. I just wish we'd stop being angry about the moron, and finally do something.

Knowing the history of the White House Correspondent Dinner, starting with a male only event, many cancellations throughout the years for one reason or other, its many critics and felon tRump, himself, refusing to attend many times, the whole crowd of dedicated journalists should have walked out, en masse, to felon tRump's misogynist remarks. Leaving him standing there, in complete humiliation, would have sent their message to him that his bullying and degrading sexist remarks were unacceptable and sent the cry baby home to stomp his feet that he was rejected. Not to have this WHCD is no great loss. There can be better substitutes to honor journalists without presidential attendance.
