In 20 days, Republicans will control every lever of government in Washington (assuming the House can elect a speaker to certify the vote on January 6th). Whatever happens next will be on them.

If Republicans fail to elect a speaker tomorrow, they will inevitably blame Democrats for their own failure. Too bad.

If Republicans fail to pass another continuing resolution to fund the government (because they are incapable of actually passing a budget), they will inevitably blame Democrats for their own failure. Too bad.
